The story of "Snopus"
My
name is Kari Malterud. I have been active in the Cat Fancy for many years, and
my first litter was born in January, 1990.
I bred Norwegian Forest Cats for 10 years, which gave me much pleasure and joy. I believe this breed has the most healthy cats in the Cat Fancy at the moment.
After falling in
love with the Oriental breed in 1992, I finally decided to get one in 1997,
and then it just accumulated :-)
My first oriental litter was born in 1999. Since then I have had many kittens.
Breeding orientals, it was neccesary to know more about genetics and health,
and I have devoted much time and efford into those two subjects.
Sadly, I have a son who is allergic to cats. This fact, together with other "subjects", it forced me to make the decition to stop breeding for a while. Most of my cats has got new, loving and permanent homes. I am very happy for that, as I think I have been lucky finding them such good homes.
The summer of 2004 I got an opportunity which I couldn't resist. My best friend, Nora, offered me a 4 year old gelded TB racehorse, which she was about to retire from the racetrack. I saw him in 2002 and fall instantly in love.
He is named New York Minute, "Richard" for short, and he has proven to be the love of my life, next after my husband and kids of course :-)
You can read about my horse, cats and the rest of what's going on, in the other sections.
I hope you will enjoy your stay here !
